CANTON, GA -- Riverfest 2003 Arts and Crafts Festival scheduled for September 27 and 28, 2003 - RAIN OR SHINE. The Service League of Cherokee County once again will be hosting the 19th Annual Riverfest Arts and Crafts Festival in Canton, Georgia on September 27 and 28. The Service League of Cherokee County is a non-profit organization comprised of seventy-five women who volunteer time and efforts to help underprivileged children in Cherokee County, Georgia. All proceeds from Riverfest are used to assist needy children in Cherokee County. A juried show, this Southern Celebration features over 200 talented artists and craftsmen exhibiting and demonstrating their creations. The Children’s Area, fully encircled by a steam locomotive complete with tunnels, is full of rides, games, a petting zoo and other activities. On the stage of the Entertainment Area are bands, local artists, dancers and special performances. While enjoying the entertainment, feast on an array of festival foods and browse the Gourmet Market Place for confections to take home. Door prizes donated by exhibitors are awarded throughout the show. Riverfest will be open on Saturday, September 27 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday, September 28 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is a $5.00 donation for Adults and children under 12 are free. Riverfest is located in Boling Park on Highway 5 in Canton, Georgia. The area is Handicap Accessible. From Atlanta, take I-75 to I-575 North, Exit 16 to Highway 5 and follow the signs.
