The 10th Annual Mule Roundup is fast approaching! This year on October 1st and 2nd the Mule Roundup is expecting more people than ever before. They have a fun-filled weekend planned for you and your family. They really think that you will enjoy it.
You will see cane grinding with fruit juice samples, sausage smoking, hay cutting, and baling all done by mules! Also, they will have arts and crafts along with food vendors of all kinds, along with singing, clogging, wagon rides and mule plowing. You will also be able to feed the fish and ducks or visit the grits mill house and watch them grind grits and meal. In addition, you can stroll through a 100-year-old log house filled with antiques of all kinds or you may choose to sit on the porch and rock.
You can see old log barns, an outhouse, moonshine still, and corn crib, along with wild turkeys, oxen, chicken, and goats, plus you will be able to see mule plowing demonstrations, from using one mule to maybe six or eight hitched to a plow of some sort.
Be sure to watch both the Country Boy Plow Club and the Georgia Old Time Plow Club as they demonstrate with their plowing methods. If you have any interest in mules or horses, this is the place to be. Usually there are at least 75 to 100 mules and horses at this event.
Be in Guysie on Friday night October 1st and Saturday night October 2nd for the Wild and Western Rodeo produced by SPBR & W Cattle Company. For more information on the rodeo or to be part of the rodeo, call 229-244-3172 and ask for Mr. William Peters.
