DALTON, GA -- FESTIVAL 2004, the 41st Fine Arts and Fine Crafts event hosted by the Creative Arts Guild in Dalton, Georgia will be held September 18th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, September 19th from 11 a.m to 5 p.m. in downtown Dalton. This free, two-day event will feature the Open-Air Artist Market, musical performances in many genres, fun and creative activities for children at Children’s Hill. Open-Air Artist Market booths will feature artists displaying and selling painting, jewelry, garden art, furniture, pottery, photography and more. In addition to the FESTIVAL Open-Air Market, the Creative Arts Guild will host the Annual Indoor Patron Purchase Exhibition and Competition August 17 – September 29 at its 520 West Waugh Street Gallery. In all, almost 100 artists from the South-east and beyond, will exhibit work at the juried show this year. In keeping with the Guild’s efforts to attract new and innovative talent, several artists whose work has appeared in New American Paintings, the highly regarded series of “exhibitions in print” will show new work. Several new artists from northwest Georgia and southeast Tennessee will also be making their debut, continuing the Guild’s tradition of spotlighting local talent among an array of their peers from the Southeast. The guild will also host the Peacock Alley FilmFest (short subjects), 3D Student Art Exhibit and the Concourse Bluegrass Jam.
