Christmas in the Mountains is a magical time in White County. The festivities begin the day after Thanksgiving with the Festival of Trees at Unicoi State Park and Lodge.
Thirty-nine trees and twenty-four wreaths will be theme decorated and on display for visitors to view and bid on in a silent auction from November 23 through December 8. The restaurant at the Lodge is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
On December 1, the Bavarian Village of Helen's Annual Christ-mas Parade will take place at 2:00 p.m. through the brightly decorated streets of this quaint little tourist town.
Deck the Halls at Unicoi State Park and Lodge is a holiday celebration that includes making holiday crafts, hayrides and an evening of music in the park's beautifully decorated lodge. The event takes place December 1, admission is free and parking is $2.
Cleveland, Georgia will celebrate "Christmas in the Moun- tains" on December 1. Festivi-ties begin at 3:00 p.m. with pictures with Santa, choral groups, arts & crafts vendors, and a lighted Christmas parade at 7:00 p.m. All sorts of children's activities will take place during the event. Stroll the streets of downtown Cleveland this holiday season and experience a "White" Christmas in "White" County, Georgia.
