Countryside Americana Festival

BUTLER, GA -- The Warner Robins Little League World Champion Baseball Team will be the Celebrity Grand Marshals in Butler on Saturday, November 3rd for the gala 4 PM Parade. Everyone is invited to Butler to see these 11 - 12 year olds as they parade through beautiful downtown Butler.

Taylor County Countryside Festival, A Country American Festival, will again honor our Armed Forces from the past to the present in downtown Butler on November 2-3. The Country-Americana Festival has a two-fold purpose: 1) to promote love of our country and military, and 2) to promote farm life in Taylor County and Georgia.

See all of this happened on Friday evening at 5 p.m. when live entertainment will start of the streets of Butler. See the sensational 11-year-old Bailey Culverhouse of Warner Robins perform on the violin. Country singer, Sylvia Winters, of Thoma-ston will take stage at 8 p.m. for a 3-hour concert.

Saturday will offer the Americana Dress Contest, Kiss-the-Pig Contest, Hog Calling Contest, Cow Patty Bingo, 4 p.m. PARADE, and so much more. Saturday's highlight will take place at 12 noon with a 1-hour patriotic show, "Taylor County Salutes Our Military - Yesterday and Today." This show will include the Fort Benning Infantry Band and the roll call of those killed in the Iraqi war from Georgia. Veterans should register at the Fickling Masonic Lodge, right on the square. All Veterans should be available at the stage at 12 noon for recognition. There will be good food, arts, crafts, and so much more. Vendors are still being accepted today.

The festival will actually kick-off on Friday evening, October 27, with the arrival of the new Miss Georgia, Leah Massee of Ocilla. Miss Georgia will entertain, sign autographs, and take part in the little Countryside Festival pageants. This event will take place at the Taylor County High School at 7 p.m.

Wear your red, white, and blue as we show our love for our country at the Country Americans Festival. The beautiful little town of Butler, population 1,900, sits right on US Highway 19, now four lanes, and right off US 96, the new Fall Line Freeway.

Taylor County shows its pride in selecting Butler as the festival's home. The cozy town square, unlike any other spot in the county, makes Butler the perfect location for this warm and entertaining family event. Admission and parking is free to the public.
