FRANKLIN, GA — Don’t miss the 7th Annual “Taste of a Chattahoochee Christmas” on Friday, December 5th, beginning at 5:00 p.m. and running until. The Heard County Chamber of Commerce will host this annual event on the square, in downtown Franklin. Approximately 6,000 attendees were present for the 2002 “Taste”. There is always plenty to do at “Taste” besides filling stomachs and buying last minute holiday gifts. Santa will be on hand to hear the children’s wish lists and have pictures made. Local entertainment will include school bands, dance troops and caroling. Admission to the Festival is free, but purchase $.50 tickets at the Main Booth for a “Tasting” of the spectacular food to include grilled shrimp, seafood chowder, smoked sausage, beef kabobs and much more. Over 20 “Taste” booths are scheduled. Each “Taste” will cost one ticket. Approximately 15 Arts and Craft booths will be open, which will consist of locally made seasonal decorative items such as painted gourds, fruit baskets, hand-sewn dolls, woodwork items, holiday ornaments, just to name a few. Purchase these items directly from the Arts & Craft Vendors. No tickets will be accepted. Wagon rides will carry visitors through the historic district of Franklin to see the wonderfully decorated homes, while the Heard Historical Museum will be open for tours. The Wagon rides will cost 3 tickets per person.
