MONROE, GA -- Are you looking for FAMILY FUN? If so, you’ll find plenty at the Crepe Myrtle Festival! This year’s festival will be held on June 12th at Criswell Park, off Hwy 11 south. It will feature something for ages 1 - 101. You’ll enjoy the unique crafts, children’s activities and rides, a variety of food, non-stop entertainment, a Wheels Exhibit featuring cars & motorcycles and a tractor parade at Noon. Festival hours will be 9:00 - 5:00 with a $1.00 donation and free parking. Looking for the perfect unique gift? You’re sure to find it at the Crepe Myrtle Festival! The aisles will be filled with a variety of handmade merchandise from exotic candles to children’s items to handmade silver jewelry. Registration for classic cars, motorcycles and two-cylinder tractors will be from 9:00 - 10:00 the morning of the festival. The continuous entertainment will feature country, soft rock, gospel, jazz and the blues. Come hungry! Festival foods will range from BBQ to chicken to gyros, Polish dogs, ice cream and a festival favorite... funnel cakes! Be sure to pack up your lawn chairs & blankets for a perfect family outing as you enjoy the free evening concert. On stage at 4:30 will be local country music performer/songwriter, Rhonda Carrier. Then at 7:00, enjoy the country rock sounds of “The Kinchafoonie Cowboys”. Select food vendors will stay open so that concertgoers won’t go hungry.
